Free Speech

A Personal Statement on Free Speech, Harassment, and the Public Interest

Today, I am writing about a matter of profound personal and public importance. It concerns the fundamental human right to free speech, the severe personal cost of harassment, and a story of institutional failing that I believe the public has a right to know.

For some time, I have been attempting to use my voice to bring attention to what I perceive as serious failings and institutional neglect by senior staff within a particular organisation. This is a story of significant public interest, as these alleged failings directly impact the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, myself included.

However, the act of speaking out has come at a heavy price. Instead of engaging with the substance of these serious concerns, I have found myself subjected to a sustained campaign of pressure. This has escalated to the point of what I experience as threats, harassment, and clear attempts at intimidation within the context of a legal dispute. I believe the intent of these actions is to silence me by deliberately causing me anxiety and distress.

The impact has been severe and tangible. This conduct has triggered my existing PTSD, forcing me to seek therapeutic support to cope with the resulting psychological toll. The right to live free from harassment is itself a fundamental right, and the use of threats to stifle free speech within a legal framework is, in my view, a deeply troubling abuse of process.

Let me be unequivocally clear: my purpose is not malice, but accountability. I am exercising my right to free speech to shed light on issues that affect the vulnerable. I believe the public has a right to be aware of systemic problems that put people at risk. Silencing whistleblowers or those who raise concerns through fear and intimidation only serves to perpetuate harm and prevent necessary change.

This post is a conscious act of raising awareness, not an act of retaliation. It is my honest account of my experiences, shared with the genuine belief that it is in the public interest. I stand by my right to speak on these matters and will continue to seek peaceful, lawful avenues to advocate for transparency and justice.

I share this now, not just for my own sake, but for anyone else who has felt pressured into silence. Free speech is a cornerstone of our society, and it must be protected from those who would use intimidation to extinguish it.
